Massive Tournaments Rules & Definitions

UMOO is a financial entertainment platform where the top performing traders are awarded cash prizes for their winning virtual portfolios. The awarded cash prizes are predetermined and announced before each tournament commences. The final ranking of the players is based on the total returns of the portfolio calculated according to the data available in our servers at the end of each tournament.

If more than one trader has the exact same portfolio value and yield, UMOO will split the prizes between the traders. For example, trader A and trader B have the exact same returns and they both finished in first place. First and 2nd place prizes will be split evenly amongst traders A and B, there will be no second place prize and the third place prize will be awarded to the next best performing portfolio.

Each player receives $100,000 in virtual trading cash with which to start building his/her portfolio.

You can choose to buy/sell/sell short and cover any of the stocks that are eligible for the specific tournament you have registered for.

UMOO's system automatically provides real-time access to the buying & selling information relevant to the eligible participating stocks in each Massive Tournament.

Orders that are given when markets are closed can be shown as pending orders. They will be executed by UMOO's system on your behalf as soon as the specific stock market you are "trading in" opens.

Players with the highest calculated portfolio value at the conclusion of the tournament will be awarded cash prizes according to the predetermined prize structure (1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd etc. - relative to the total purse and number of participants).

Last player to get a prize always gets more than the initial buy in.

  • Multiple portfolios: Traders may manage more than one portfolio per tournament. Each additional portfolio requires the payment of an additional "buy-in" fee. Notwithstanding, UMOO reserves the right to offer tournaments that do not allow multiple portfolios. Notice of such tournaments will be given in the "tournament details" section.
  • Open portfolios: Traders cannot view other traders' portfolios. Notwithstanding, UMOO reserves the right to offer tournaments in which portfolios are "open" and can be viewed by other traders. Notice of such tournaments will be given in the "tournament details" section.
  • Registration period: The registration period for tournaments begin as a tournament is announced and ends as the tournament starts or as the maximum number of participants has been reached (where applicable). Late registration is not allowed as all traders start competing at the same time. UMOO reserves the right to limit registrations as it deems necessary.
  • Tournament Durations: The starting time of a tournament will be shown in the tournament lobby and in the "tournament details" section. Usually tournaments will start at the beginning of a trading day (i.e. 9:30 Eastern Time US for US market tournaments) and end at the end of a trading day (i.e 16:00 Eastern Time US for US market tournaments) unless stated otherwise.
  • Initial virtual balance: traders will be given a virtual cash balance of $100,000 or any other amount that will be advertised in the tournament lobby and/or the "tournament details" section.
  • Eligible securities: Each tournament will designate a list of participating stocks and traders can trade any common stock, ETF's and other assets that are part of this list.
  • Orders types and trade execution: buy, sell, limit orders, stop loss, short and cover -all orders are executed at real time prices (NLS) as provided by our data vendor during market hours. Market orders placed before or after market hours will be executed at an appropriate price shortly after the market opens. If the stock requested has not been traded that particular day the trade will be cancelled. Trades placed after market hours are viewable in the pending orders screen. Buy and short orders can be submitted as cash sums and sell and cover orders can be submitted only as number of shares.
  • Short sells: proceeds from the short sell are restricted and cannot be used to buy additional stocks.
  • Canceling market orders: traders cannot cancel market orders placed during market hours.
  • Commissions: each executed trade will cost a virtual trade fee of 10$ which will be subtracted from the trader's virtual cash portfolio.
  • Splits dividends and other corporate actions: most stock splits, dividends and other corporate actions will be accounted for after markets have closed and prior to the next market opening. This situation may cause account values to be misrepresented until reconciliation occurs.
  • Investment diversification: traders may invest a maximum of twenty (20%) percent of their initial portfolio in any one stock.
  • Transaction limits: as published in the tournament lobby and the tournament details section.
  • Prize Eligibilty: In Freeroll Tournaments and Tournaments in the fun mode players must place at least one order to be eligible to receive prizes. Players who do not place at least on order throughout the entire tournament duration will not be ranked and will not be eligible to receive prizes.
